About Us
Rotary International is the largest service club in the world. It aims to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. It operates under the theme of SERVICE ABOVE SELF. The Rotary Club of Point Fortin was chartered on the 2nd October 1986 under the generous sponsorship of the Rotary Club of San Fernando. There were twenty one (21) registered charter members on that auspicious day. Thanks to the dedication and vision of these charter members, the Rotary Club of Point Fortin was formed and history was made.
In 2003, we successfully formed the Rotaract Club of Point Fortin. Rotaract is Rotary’s mentoring program for future leaders, ages 18-30. In March 2016, we formed our very first Interact Club at the Holy Name Convent Secondary School in Point Fortin. Our members consist of men and women who have made a commitment to contribute to the Point Fortin community everyday through their businesses or professional lives, in addition to Rotary.
The Rotary Club of Point Fortin is part of District 7030. Rotary District 7030 is home of some of the world's most diverse and vibrant Rotary Clubs. With over 2,000 Rotarians in 73 Clubs in 17 Counties & Territories in the Southern Caribbean, District 7030 covers a diverse geography and encompasses a variety of cultures and languages – English, French and Dutch are all spoken in countries within District 7030.
